Island Safari Lodge is set on a 300-acre private reserve and is just 10 km away from Maun Airport. It is situated on the banks of the Thamalakane River under a canopy of beautifully lush trees. The restaurant overlooks the floodplains and river. This area is home to an abundance of birdlife and the occasional hippo. The lodge offers a restful bush setting. Relax at the pool and enjoy the tranquility and the iconic call of the African Fish Eagle.
The accommodation is comfortable, and the chalets are nestled in the lodge gardens. The lodge has 12 Chalets, 6 Heritage Rooms and 6 Heritage Family Rooms all with en-suite showers, DSTV and air conditioning.
Island Safari Lodge also offers shady campsites, with shared ablution facilities, a braai (barbeque) area as well as power points. There is a large swimming pool at the campsite where everybody who prefers a more social environment can relax and cool off while the guests in the chalets can enjoy a more restful experience at the pool near the bar.

Island Safari Lodge is situated about 10 km from the Airport. From the airport take the main road that runs north-east towards the Moremi National Park. Just before you cross the river, turn left and follow the dirt road for 3 km. This road is accessible to most vehicles, but the sand might sometimes be a bit loose.
The ideal place is to relax alongside one of the swimming pools.
You can embark on memorable and exciting day excursions to the Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve.

BOTSWANA
From Island Safari Lodge near Maun the road to Shakawe in the north west of Botswana is a tar road and in a good condition. Shakawe is along the western panhandle of the Okavango Delta and an excellent venue for fishing and birding in the Okavango Delta. Drotsky's Cabins and it's sister lodge namely Xaro Lodge are the best lodges. South west of Maun lies Ghanzi which is the gateway to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. The Kalahari Arms Hotel is a three star hotel and very rich in history. If you prefer a game reserve, Thakadu Camp five km south of Ghanzi will be the place for you.
NAMIBIA
Namibia lies to the west of Maun and Island Safari Lodge. You can drive to the coastal resort, Swakopmund within two days. In Swakopmund, Swakopmund Hotel offers luxury accommodation. Further north is the Kunene District which was previously known as Damaraland. Near the Petrified Forest and at the famous Twyfelfontein rock paintings and engravings is Twyfelfontein Country Lodge.
